進口離心泵是流動介質（氣體和液體，也可以是懸浮顆粒與氣體或液體的混合物）從葉片轉軸根部（）進入，介質依靠高速轉動葉片獲得離心力，產生一個高壓，從泄壓口（出口）流出的介質輸送設備。多級離心泵是將具有同樣功能的兩個以上的泵集合在一起，流體通道結構上，表現(xiàn)在 級的介質泄壓口與 級的相通， 級的介質泄壓口與第三級的相通，如此串聯(lián)的機構形成了多級離心泵。多級離心泵的意義在于提高設定壓力。
